|Clarification on Pre-Paying Membership Dues
We have received requests for clarification on the following notice
which was published in the November issue of THE TRAVELER:
“Effective 1 January 2015 all membership dues will increase. At the
2014 National Muster it was determined that membership dues
would need to be increased in order to balance the budget and keep
SMART viable for the coming years. While not a pleasant task, it
became apparent that it was necessary.
“It was also approved if a member desired to pre-pay their next year’
s membership dues at the current rate, those rates would be
accepted through 31 December 2014.”
Our intent in the notice was to allow members to pay 2015 dues only
at the current (2014) rate. If you desire to pay 2015 dues at the 2014
rate, that is permissible, however any advanced years (2016 and
later) must be at the 2015 rate of $65 for the primary veteran member
and $30 for all other memberships.
If you are pre-paying your 2015 dues, please ensure your remittance
is post-marked not later than 31 December 2014.
We are sorry for any confusion this may have caused to our valued
