                      Tri-State Rebels

The Tri-State Rebels Chapter is located in the Southeastern
region of the United States. Our members are from all five
services and are full and part time travelers with varying styles
and types of RV’s. We all share the common thread of
“having served” and enjoy socializing and the
camaraderie of having fun as we carry out our Club’s motto,
“Seeing the Country We Defend”.

Our campouts are called “Musters”, a term we’re all familiar with. Our Musters are held every month,
usually in Georgia, South Carolina or North Carolina. However, we have been known on occasion to
stray outside these areas. It is not uncommon to have in attendance over 25 rigs.

Our Tri-State Rebel Chapter was formed on September 24, 1988 with nine members and we now have
in access of 80 and are still growing. To become a member, one must first meet the requirements of
SMART National Headquarters. Our Chapter dues are $12.00 per year ($1.00 per month) and are due
each January.

On our website,
www.tristaterebels.net, you will find Administrative information, a Newsletter with a
Message from the Chapter President, a Treasurers Report, a Sunshine Report pertaining to those
members with ailments and their latest status, Officer Photos, Membership Photos, upcoming Musters
(with links to weather in that area, local attractions, schedule of events/menu, etc), a Bulletin Board with
current pertinent information for the Membership, Photo’s of earlier Musters, Helpful links to other RV
websites (exchanges/BX’s, fuel prices, other SMART Chapters, etc) and National SMART Headquarters
with links to the Traveler Magazine and pertinent National Bylaws and Standing Rules. Also, our Chapter
Newsletter the “Rebel Yell”, Membership application, By-Laws, Standing Rules and Muster listings are
available for downloading in a PDF format.

If you are thinking of joining a military RV travel club Chapter, we would
“surely welcome the chance
to be that group”
of fun loving and supportive people where prior or current active duty rank or grade,
though respected, has no standing.
Come Join Us!!
FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE BUCCANEERS

Happy New Year and may all have a healthy and wealthy 2011.
My wishes for the coming year are that the 112th Congress will be
able to keep The United States as one of the most productive and
respected Country in the World.
The Buccaneers have had a very fun 2010 year.  We had four great chapter musters, with one of them
being at the National Muster in Center Hill, Pa.  My count was around 40 rigs in attendance.  Our chapter is
very friendly and fun loving.  There are close to 60 members in our chapter.  Not all live in Florida.  As for
me my home is in Ohio and I winter in Florida. We do not have a large loss of members.  I think the reason
is that we act more as a family rather than an organization.  Our musters are very well attended, average
between 25 and 30 rigs per muster.  I think our largest gathering brought 40 rigs to one of our musters.
Another reason is that our members are the ones who make a strong organization.  If help is needed, you
do not have to ask as someone will come forward.  Our officers are very dedicated to do the job they were
elected to do.  The officers are in close contact with each other and confer as needed.  Our musters are
always open to all SMART Members.  We ask that you notify our Muster Master so that he can make room
for you.  We don’t have any “Clicks”.  We have friends.  If problems arise we try to handle them before they
get too large.   If one of our members has a problem, they can go to the Vice President for a confidential
meeting, for advice and guidance.
Our latest musters were at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fl.  Our chapter attends this every November
for memorial services.  This year was “Wreaths across America”, very impressive, our chapter members
helped to lay the wreaths.
January muster will be at Lazy Days which will include the Tampa RV show.
March muster will be at Grand Lake Resorts.  We always have a good show of members at the National
Muster.  We have various projects going on for “wounded Veterans” and active military personnel, such as
making skull caps for the troops to wear under their helmets.  (To prevent cold or sweat)
If additional information is need about the Buccaneers, you can go to our web site.  Our Editor of our news
letter does an excellent job in keeping our web site up to date.
www.smartbucs.com  is our site.
May God Bless you, God Bless our Troops, and may God Bless America!

WELCOME TO SMART
Looking for a chapter to join?? May we suggest the
CHATTAHOOCHEE DRIFTERS?
Motto: “OUR RIGS HAVE WHEELS”
Referred to as the “The Drifters” we were formed as a Chapter Nov 2nd 2000 with 22 charter
members  all belonging to one or more Chapters in the Region. We attract most of our members
from Central, North and South Florida and South East Georgia, but hold our musters in various
locations to accommodate the wide spread of membership. Our chapter represents all branches of
the uniform service. This chapter is an active Chapter participating in approximately six (6) musters
a year. Those Months are Feb., April. Oct., & Nov., with National and Regional musters included.
Our camping musters are designed so participants can arrive and depart any day during the muster
for those folks who still work. At our musters we enjoy inside and outside games, cards, golf, local
tours, shopping trips, local guest speakers, dinning out and fire side chats. Our chapter has raised
over $650.00 for the Wounded Warriors project. Every year the Chapter decides our yearly
Community project; in 2009 we donated toys to TOYS FOR TOTS. This year 2010 another $250.00
was sent to the WWP. If you like to attend one of our musters and enjoy a great time, please feel
free to contact me for more information.
Thanks for looking

                          GULF COAST EAGLES, FL

As of right now the Gulf Coast Eagles have 41 members.  Most of our members are from FL, but we do have
members from GA, too.  We are from all over the state so our get togethers at Musters are special because we
get to see everyone again.  Our last Muster was at Ocala National Forest.  It was extremely COLD all the time
we were there, but we had a great time anyway!  It was our Christmas get together and everyone brought a toy
for Toys for Tots, we had a great selection.  The ladies had a tea, everyone had fun playing cards and just
visiting and catching up on what everyone had done over the summer.  Of course, we had a lot of meals and
great food!

                     HELLO from FLORIDA SUNSHINE CHAPTER!

Our chapter is the 2nd oldest SMART chapter in Florida, chartered in 1989  We have musters
(rallies) 6 times yearly in the EVEN months of February, April, June, August, October & December.
Our chapter membership is open to all SMART members.  We usually meet somewhere in Central
Florida, but we also have had musters as far South as West Palm Beach and as far North as
Jennings, FL. and South Georgia.  We also travel singly or in groups to SMART Regional and
National musters.  Our camaraderie is unmatchable.
Our muster hosts have a planned agenda at the campground for all to enjoy.  We are a large chapter
and we try to take advantage of the local sights wherever we camp in this great Sunshine State of
Florida, and allow time during the muster for personal or group sightseeing.  Our games leader,
Naida Rasbury, also does a great job of keeping us busy.  We are looking for a member to teach
crafts.
Take a look at our new website;
www.orlandochaptersmart.com  We look forward to camping with
YOU!
                                                      Florida Roadrunners

Jim & "D" McDade were approached at the March 2010 SE Region Muster by then SMART (Special Military Active
Retired Travelclub) President, Merle Dodge and the then SE Region Director, David Weis, to start up a new
SMART chapter in the NE Florida area (Jacksonville & St. Augustine).  Two months later at the May 1, 2010, we
recruited 3 couples into joining SMART and into our newly forming chapter.  As founders of the Florida
Roadrunners, Jim & "D" are very pleased of the charter/chapter membership of the initial 7 (couples) has grown to
21 (couples).  The Florida Roadrunners has had ONLY 2 musters (social get togethers) in late 2010.  At the
inaugural muster (September), we received support from other SMART chapters and added those members to our
roster.  Since then, Jim & "D" encouraged 2 former SMART members in the NE Florida area to get reinstated and
they too have joined the chapter.  Chapter members, Steve & Sarah Colt, Hank & Rita Pelz as well as Jim & "D"
have invited guests to our chapter musters.  These guests liked what SMART and it's Florida Roadrunners
chapter offered, they joined SMART and our chapter as charter members.  Our small but growing chapter must be
doing something right!!  We hold musters in January, March, May, (travel in the Summer) September and late
October or early November.  Some of the positive comments received by our chapter are, "We've never had so
much fun"; "Everyone is so happy & friendly"; "Lots to do as a group".  The Florida Roadrunners set NO
BOUNDARIES and travel to different RV parks in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, etc.  Our musters are diversified and
surprises often occur when one least expects it!  Come see for yourself.  Our busy chapter is currently preparing
for our 2012 SE Region Muster to be held at the Wekiva Falls RV Resort in Sorrento, Florida.  Have a great 2011.
